Shed roof covering

My 10' x 6' shed now has its roof on and is almost ready for the roof felt, £20 from B+Q.
It says fixed using nails and felt adhesive, I saw a video where the nails go into the roof itself, does that not cause a leak?
I thought, just nails on the edge and glue on the roof?

I've never used adhesive, just nailed it on. It doesn't leak when you nail through it because the felt is like sticky tar stuff which seals around the nail.
You could also look at using EPDM rubber roofing which will considerably outlast roofing felt.0 -
Not if you use proper roofing felt and proper galvanised nails specifically designed for felt. The felt closes up round the shank of the nail and prevents leakage.1

I have just looked at that, its £120 for a kit, so more than treble the price. Might be good stuff, if my shed was going to last 20 yearschrisw said:You could also look at using EPDM rubber roofing which will considerably outlast roofing felt.

I would recommend using roofing felt adhesive in the overlaps, you only need a little gap in the felt for the wind to get under and rip it apart.0
