It's the equivalent of the security numbers you get on the strip on the reverse of credit cards. Only AMEX have ever asked me for them.
HTHIf it was easy, everyone would do it!0 -
So if i'm asked for security numbers, would i use all four?0

you would give whatever is asked for. some companies may ask for a specific combination but this is probably unlikely imo and yes generally you will be asked for all 4

When using my AMEX over the phone, I have never been asked for the security strip numbers. I think when the merchant plugs in AMEX it just defaults to not ask for it. Like I say, only AMEX have ever asked me to quote them. I wouldn't worry about it.
Another thing is that AMEX has no 'valid from' date, and some companies will go into a bit of a tizz if they can't fill in this box, so I just tell them the month and year I opened the card and it seems to work every time.
