Furlough and training

Considering that the guidelines say you should only leave the house for essential shopping, medical reasons, work only if it cannot be completed from home, and exercise.
Can my employer require that I still attend work for full-time hours for training whilst I am furloughed?

Yes. Though your employer should consider offering the training online if possible.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. OK. So I understand what you're saying but given that whilst I'm furloughed I cannot work for the company. And training is not a reason to leave the house how does this work?
Can I be required to continue my first aider duties whilst furloughed? And what happens if my training does generate revenue for the employer? For example I am asked to do some of the work so they can see I can do it?0 -
One of the things the government says you can do is training. So they can call you in for training. With carrying on your first aid duties depends what it is, if someone gets injured when training then yes you can, or if you are training others then yes you can. But if you are just doing things like checking all the equipment is working then no.
If your training is making money for the company they should not be asking you to do it.
