CP plus ltd parking - DCBL debt recovery

I have never received a fine ever, that’s a fact but neither should I of. The fine relates to a motorway services I worked at and my car was registered.
The letter has 8 different references numbers on, intentionally very confusing.
The letter is also signed off “ collection team” with a picture of can’t way we’ll take it away on channel 5.
Never been in this situation before and would love some advice.
- I have read a lot about CP plus ltd but little mention of DCBL - help

This is nothing unusual. England or Scotland?
If it's DCBL Collections then it's just a debt collector letter to ignore.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

OK, read other threads because when you get a court claim (up to 6 yrs is the limitation) you will need the forum's template defence from the NEWBIES thread and to be familiar with what happens when, and how to win. There are loads of DCBLegal threads if you look for that single word, by searching the forum.
CP Plus can't hold a registered keeper liable so defend as keeper.
For now you can try a massive complaint to MOTO's CEO which can get these cancelled:

''Moto advises drivers who accidentally or unintentionally overstay the free parking period – and believe they have mitigating circumstances – to contact the duty manager before leaving the site. It says that had you done this, the ticket would not have been issued.''

It is not a fine, it is an invoice from an ex-clamper to compensate them for the alleged harm they suffered when you did what you did. We call it a scam. Pay them not a penny unless a judge so orders it.
Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully, when life gets back to normal, it will become impossible for those scammers who are left to continue their vile trade, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1 -
Thanks for all the advice. It’ll Be going straight in the bin.
after abit of digging. You can’t do anything online because the reference number given is intentionally too long.
Upon phoning 3 of their 8 offices not one of them acknowledge the company they work for, all just answered the phone very casually ( don’t worry I didn’t speak just hung up )
I phoned the number provided and an answering machine answered with only 3 options. Them being pay now, pay half and request call back. Very strange.1 -
Don't bin it; keep it safe until either six years have passed or after a court case has been completed.
Never, ever contact a debt crawler, ever by 'phone, and only ever contact them if you want to deny the debt.
Never 'phone a parking scammer.
Do complain to your MP about this unregulated scam.

DCBL are simply money trolls looking for mugs.
If they start talking rubbish with a letter before claim and adding fake amounts (which they do), come back here for a step by step guide to get them spanked by a judge and how you can claim your costs against them.
Bear in mind that parking companies and their dodgy legals are desperate right now

No-one told you to BIN the letters that will precede a court claim. ''Ignore that one'' is not ''bin it''.
You need to spend this time reading up on how we win these cases.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So I should contact CP plus, to deny the costs and explain I worked there at the time and had the car registered on the system?
- with it being so long ago I’m unsure I can even prove i was working that day. I’ve had 4 Jobs since then- will it matter?
I shouldnt contact the debt company?
And get intouch with my local MP and make him aware of this scam?0 -
Stop admitting who was driving, and why are you summarising everything BUT the action that I told you will get this cancelled if you are quick?
I said ''For now you can try...'' and that is the ONLY thing that will work. You could have had this cancelled by now.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
