Should I have to pay more for the same holiday next year?

Hi all...this has probably been asked elsewhere, so apologies if so. In June 2019 I booked a holiday to Walt Disney World for May 2020, through Trailfinders. Of course the trip has been cancelled, but to maintain travel insurance rights I am looking to rebook the same holiday 52 weeks later, so May 2021. Trailfinders have got in touch and said it will cost me £2.5k more. The main reason for this is that this year we had free Disney dining, next year they don't seem to be offering it and want to charge £2k for it. As part of any protection afforded to me through booking a package holiday with Trailfinders, should I expect the offer to be honoured for my new booking, thus making next year's price almost the same as this year's? Hope that makes sense and thanks in advance.

They can charge what price they like for next year.
It's then up to you if you accept it or not.

As above.
It's market forces , supply and demand.
People rebooking from this year like you doubling demand , if they don't need to incentive you to sweeten the deal then they won'tEx forum ambassador

So there is no protection at all? Seems like my travel insurance provider who told me there was doesn't know as much as people here. Thanks all

Would you still be covered with your travel insurance for COVID-19 if you change dates?Koik said:So there is no protection at all? Seems like my travel insurance provider who told me there was doesn't know as much as people here. Thanks all

If I rebook, then my COVID-19 cover remains in place. If I take a refund it doesn't. But rebooking the same trip costs more, and travel insurer has said they don't cover the increased cost due to it being a package holiday.Life__Goes__On said:

Unless you have a crystal ball, I would take my money
Disney's profit is way down and they are looking at whatever means necessary to recoup their losses

Do you have that in writing?Koik said:

I have an annual policy, and have been told anything booked after 13/3/20 won’t be covered for Coronavirus. I’d expect a rebooking to be regarded in the same way.0 -
Yes I do have that in writing. As soon as I take a refund or voucher I lose that part of the cover. But a rebooking keeps itNebulous2 said:

Contradictory statements there - Disney aren’t going to mothball Disneyworld, so based on that it would therefore be wise to book before prices increase further.Socajam said:Unless you have a crystal ball, I would take my money

Maybe you do have very comprehensive insurance but might be worth checking with the insurance company again just to be 100% sure there hasn’t been a misinterpretation somewhere, if you are covered for a rebooking then great, but those terms seems rare and very generous compared to most policies.Koik said:Yes I do have that in writing.
