Parking Ticket Vagueness- Newham London

I recieved a parking ticket even though I was displaying a visitors permit which I thought is valid, however after appeal I was told that it was valid only in Zone U and not all the zones mentioned.
I have many visitors permits, each shows only one zone, this replacement permit however showed many zones.
I will later add another version of the visitor permit which has only 1 zone mentioned.
I have 14 days from today to pay.... Should I pay or should I go... Court

The indicator is the hole next to U, on other visitor permits it's indicated with just 1 zone, not loads hence the confucktion

"...and in the zone indicated..."
Only one zone indicated there. The one with the hole punched next to it.
Bang to rights.
So you'd got a single visitor permit, and thought it was fair game for toddling all round the borough all day?0 -
I have another permit, it has one zone mentioned, its not holed. It also says indicated.0

Who is asking for the money? If it's the council then just pay up whilst it's cheap.

I have these at home...0 -
Newham is asking for money, only 40, when I used this visitors permit I read every word on it, and got my wife to check it, we both failed to see the hole representing an indication, we're so use to using the old one which indicated only one zone, so our heads were telling us all zones mentioned.0

I can't help but think that going from a visitor permit that explicitly has one single zone mentioned, to one that has all listed, with a bloody great big hole next to one, and text that explicitly refers to "the zone indicated" - and assuming it must mean the entire borough as a result - is nothing short of wishful thinking...0

I have reason to be confused.
They are vague in how they indicate in their wording and should have been clearer by defining how they indicate.
If I was to follow their first method of indication which is zone mentioned then I am in the right.
If punching is the indicator then why is the single zone version not punched.

Because it doesn't need to be. It indicates the relevant zone by having just one printed on it. The other is a simpler version, with just one printed batch covering all zones, so requires the relevant zone highlighting.
Look, pause and think about this rationally and dispassionately.
What is the likelihood that a single visitor permit would cover all zones? Vanishingly unlikely.
So given that one zone is blatantly obviously and indelibly marked, what is the likelihood that that marking indicates the applicable zone? A racing certainty.0 -
Damn, I'm paying up.0
