Jsa and furlough

Hi,
I've recently graduated from university and my partner has been furloughed from his job. We have tried claiming universal credit and were rejected as he earns 'apparently' too much. I've applied for jsa but was rejected I didn't pay enough national insurance through my part time job whilst I was studying. We are really struggling to pay the bills now as our council tax has gone up now my student discount has been removed. Can anyone help on what I should do next? It saddens me that I am being penalised for going back to school to get my education.

It looks as if your only option will be to try and find some kind of work. Your partner is able to do other work whilst furloughed too, unless his contract forbids it.It's not difficult!
