Marks and Spencer banking APP does not work with Touch ID

I recently changed my phone to the new Apple iPhone SE 20 and transferred all my apps. All apps work with finger Touch ID accept for the above bank. I can log in manually but every time I try setting the Touch ID it keeps saying this service is not available. I have spoken to MKS who blame Apple. I have spoken to Apple and say there is not issue with them. I was curious whether anyone who has bought the new phone whether they were encountering issues with he finger Touch ID facility. Also MKS said according to them I am trying to set up Face ID. This is total rubbish because this phone does not have the facility to do that.

Hi Crispianne3 , I have just bought an SE 2020. I use the M&S Banking App with Touch ID on this phone, a 5s and an iPad, up to now without problem. But on the SE, it all of a sudden now wont accept my fingerprint. When I check the Manage Security settings in the app it has defaulted to Off. I switch it on but it keeps defaulting to Off as soon as I leave the page. Works fine on the 5S and the iPad. It did work on the SE but not now. Not sure what the problem is but have messaged M&S for support. Will advise if I hear anything useful.1

Hi Crispianne3, we are not going mad. See following reponse today from M&S Bank: I hope you’re well, Martin. I’m sorry but there’s an issue with Touch ID on the new iPhone SE, and we’re currently looking for a fix. Until then you won’t be able to set this up. You’ll still be able to sign in of course using your Digital PASS PIN. Stay safe. Best wishes, Morag.
