Car Insurance

Just received renewal email form Aviva.  Premium has gone up by 25%, about £140.  No claims on any type of insurance in several years, certainly not in the last 12 months.  No explanation available other than two car discount reduced for 20% to 10%.  Lots of waffle about 200 items that "the computer" considers in setting premiums, including accident rates for the particular car models (Lexus) and area (North East Fife).  Neither of which I would expect to have suddenly become high risk.  Looks to me like they don't want certain types of business any more, including mine.  Been with them for a while but time to change.  Anyone had similar experience?

So if the renewal isn't competitive... go elsewhere.

Perhaps they've decided they don't want your business. They're allowed to.

Shock horror current insurance firm hikes price hoping you will auto renew. This happens to most people, most years.

Vote with your feet, I do every year.

Alternatively if you can't be arsed just call them and say you can get it cheaper elsewhere.  They will then ask you what the offer is, don't tell them just say that is unfair quoting off the back of another company's price.

I've been with esure for 4 years now. Every year they put the price up so I check the comparison sites and find the cheapest equivalent. I phone eSure and every year they match it. Every year my insurance is cheaper than the last even though I've had 10yrs NCB for a long while now.
