I paid for a holiday in February for a Holiday in August, I have had to cancel the holiday because of CoronaVirus.  I have received no response from Travel Republic.  So I contacted CEO on Linedlin (But he resigned in December, he leaves shortly , no response) , I contacted my Credit Card MBNA they said that holiday companies are being disgusting to customers, but I cant get a refund because TR have not cancelled the package.  So I must wait for them..... Is there anything I can do ???

You should have waited for them to formally cancel the holiday.

Sounds like you cancelled so are subject to their cancellation terms and conditions  or am i reading your post wrong

As above, you cancelled. Really wrong thing to do.

And you have it on record that MNBA are saying travel companies are being disgusting?

Now look at the terms and conditions you agreed to regarding any applicable refund.

you chose to cancel (bad decision)
you need to read your contract to confirm if there would be any refund for voluntary cancellations . Some holidays will have 100% cancellation fees so it is possible that you are not due anything.

Unfortunately you pulled the trigger with the gun pointing to your head.
You did not HAVE to cancel the August holiday, but you did and their normal terms and conditions would apply.
Waiting for the Operator to cancel the booking would have been best bet, or nearer the time taken up a travel waiver on changing dates.

Sorry you can hardly call them con artists when you made the decision to cancel...

Look at the other tour operators, they are also still taking bookings for future dates after the current guidelines given. They haven’t been told they can’t do so...
