Car repair S75 claim

in Credit cards
Following a minor car bump (accidental damage no other party) we made an insurance claim and had the car repaired at a main dealer body shop.
We paid £700 excess on a personal credit card and assume the remaining cost was paid direct to the main dealer body shop by the insurance company.
Disappointingly the work is not adequate and despite repeated attempts to get rectified over the last 6 months we are no closer to getting sorted.
We are looking to do a S75 claim.
As a minimum I know we'll be able to claim for the full price of the job (£700 plus whatever the insurer paid). What happens when the cost to rectify/remedy is actually more than that amount? Is that something S75 will cover?

You will only get back maximum what you paid. You won't get back what the insurer paid or any excess getting the job redone.0

Indeed if they get the issue resolved with another garage the OP may not get anything back other than a car that is in the same condition as it was before the accident.1

Insurance company should be sorting it as it will have been one of their approved repairers.
Just who was the £700 paid to?Life in the slow lane0 -
Assuming that you used one of their approved repairers, why have you not taken this up with your insurers?0
