Steam coming out of washing machine

This is a new machine, only 3 weeks old. I’m running a 90 degree wash and there is steam coming out of the drawer. It’s almost continuous. Is this normal? I know it’s a hot wash but I didn’t think it would be boiling. There is condensation dripping from the underside of the drawer.

It's nearly boiling, I'd expect steam.

So it’s normal? I’ve just never had steam coming out of any of my previous washing machines, even at 90 degrees. Or had water dripping out of the drawer.

Water shouldn't drip from the drawer, make sure it's right in & that the machine is not leaning forward a little. Steam is normal with some machines on a hot wash.

What do you wash at 90 degrees? Don't think I've ever used any machine at that temperature.

We do a 90C wash a couple of times a year, normally for towels; it's handy for keeping the machine clean.

Yes, the drawer was completely in and the machine is level. I think the difference with this machine and my previous ones is that they only held it at 90 degrees for about 10 or 15 mins. This one seemed to hold it at 90 for nearly 2 hours! The steam was pumping out constantly. I had to open the windows and used towels to soak up all the dripping.

I always wash tea towels and cleaning cloths at 90. Sometimes bath towels/flannels too. I also run a 90 degree maintenance wash occasionally (empty).

Well, as an aside, I've learnt a tip and will be doing 90C washes very occasionally!

I've always washed whites at 90, as well as tea towels, cleaning cloths etc.
