Outlook 2016 email problem

Hi there folks,
I'm having a problem with outlook email 2016 (ok it was a key I got form ebay but seemed to work ok until lately)
I have three email accounts added to outlook and now when I open the software I get the message on a big dialog box "you can't sign in with a personal account use a work or school account instead" putting in my email is no good, it seems it is not recognised a a work or school account.
The other two accounts on the client seem to sync ok with the mail but not my main email address.
I do have the windows 10 mail or EM client app and web based sign in to fall back on, but wondering if there is any easy solution to the Outlook problem? Word seems to work fine.
Thanks for any help if you happen to know the solution to this.

What domain is your main address? Has the provider now enabled 2-Factor-Authentication across all accounts (i.e. made it mandatory, or you've inadvertently enabled it)? If yes then you probably need the equivalent of an App Password for that account.1

Well if I understand you correctly (and I probably don't) the email domain is an MSN and the other one is simply Hotmail.
As stated I can already get the mail no problem with the windows 10 built in mail client and likewise with EM client, but have been so long with outlook that I would like it to be working too.
So if you know of any in layman speak steps I could take to make it work it would be great.
I have even gone into local settings and deleted the Data Files for each email account (which I usually have to do anyways if restoring an Acronis True Image of my drive) but that won't work either, keeps giving me that message."you can't sign in with a personal account use a work or school account instead"

How long have you had the E-bay key? Maybe it wasn't as much of a bargain as you thought. Maybe go back to the seller of the key and ask0

I've seen this problem on Outlook for Android but never on the PC version0
