DMP credit score

I am in a debt management plan and have 2 debts I have been paying off for years. However when checking recent credit scores through ClearScore and Experian these debts no longer show up anywhere. I was wondering if they are no longer on does that mean they’ve been classed as settled and I can stop paying or is it advisable to carry on until they are paid off.

How long have you been paying the Debts? If its over 6 years it won't show on your credit reports, just because it doesn't show doesn't mean you should stop paying the money you owe them.

  • Yeah it will be over 6 years they just vanished this month and found it strange and wasn’t sure why.

Debt accounts stay on your credit file for 6 years after this time they are removed, though if you stop paying them they could go on a register a CCJ against you which will then stay on your report for a further 6 years.

How can you think of stopping paying just because the debt has been removed from your credit history ? You've seen what happens before-----don't go back to where you were. Keep paying until the full total has been paid off.
