Reclaiming tax paid on PPI

Hello
I put in a claim for PPI just before the deadline day last August and a couple of months ago got a much larger payout than I had expected (it was only a speculative claim, what I actually expected was a rejection letter).
I have recently heard that I may be able to reclaim the tax paid on the PPI payment, which amounts to about £700 (the tax, not the payout). I am registered Severely Sight-Impaired and receive Income-related ESA with the Severe Disability Premium, and the Enhanced Rate of both components of PIP. I don't pay tax on my benefits. Do I make a claim for a tax refund under my personal allowance? Or is there some other aspect of taxation, such as allowable interest that I should claim under?
Also, being visually-impaired, is the claims process fairly straight-forward? Or is there an agency that can make the claim on my behalf as I did with my original PPI claim?
Thanks for your time. I will be most grateful for any advice

You don't need to claim under a particular aspect of taxation.
You will just need to complete form R40 on gov.uk.
From what you have posted you are likely to get the full £700 back as your taxable income is highly likely to be less than the amount your can earn before tax is payable, particularly when some of it is interest.
Do you have a friend or relative who could help you with the form?1 -

Just to clarify - it is not tax on the PPI being refunded, but tax on the interest you are receiving.1
