How do lenders see a frequent mover?

Thanks for helping. I'm applying for a mortgage to buy my first home and getting quite worried that my address records will affect my application. I came to the UK 3.5 years ago for university, during which I was living in student halls and moving at the end of summer each year. I ended up staying in each address for 7-8 months only, and stayed in 6 different places during 3.5 years. I didn't have any form of credit during those those years and wasn't on the electoral roll (not eligible).

I started my job half a year ago and applied for credit cards, utility bills, phone contracts, etc, so it left quite a few hard searches on me.

So...with most CRAs my scores aren't the best (Good with Experian, Fair with TransUnion). Does anyone know if this causes any problems with mortgage applications?

As long as all the addresses match up at the same time, then there should not be a problem with your credit file.  You are on the Electoral Register at your current address yeah?

    Good luck

It is true that a high number of address changes is not good for an overall 'credit profile' but these are only one aspect of what lenders consider. More importantly, a mortgage is going to be assessed on an individual basis and not exclusively by a lenders internal scoring mechanism in the way a store or credit card might be. So I would not worry too much
