Filler/sealant

In my bedroom where the wall meets the underside of the windowsill there is a very small gap, once I have carefully cleaned the area up what is best to cover this? Filler or some sort of sealant?

I would just use filler - and have done in the past.

Depends how big the gap is (width and depth). Fill larger gaps, use flexible decorators filler for smaller cracks (up to 3mm).
You'll need the "gun" for flexi filler as it comes in tubes for easy application.
Filler alone will end up with a crack where two different materials meet (wood and plaster) and there are large temperature differences occurring (eg windowsill).

There are several, not very deep but are of varying width

Just use an all purpose filler or decorator's caulk.
