 well.

I was wondering if you could give me some advice. We booked a holiday of a lifetime for myself ,my daughter and my grandchildren. We booked our holiday in October 2019 to Rhodes. We had extra help added due to been disabled myself and grandson having special needs , so we booked a relax swim up room . SO THAT HE WAS NOT MISSING OUT. . We were asked to rebook our holiday due to covid , as we were told a refund could take year or so ,IF WE GOT IT. We asked for exactly the same holiday next year. This was not possible for the same date , we were offered a down graded room at an extra cost of £900.00. We explained we needed the swim up room due to my grandsons needs . We were then then given the swim up room at and extra £1400. Is this correct ??? We thought it should have been like for like exchange if holiday rather than a refund
Many regards Sarah

Afraid it's market forces , the same as why holiday costs are so much more expensive when the school holidays start.

There are an awful lot of people rebooking holidays for next year like you.

There's no chance of a "like for like" although some people have reported the opposite with the new holiday cheaper

Who have you booked with? When were you due to travel? Are they offering refunds?
