TUI Question

Sorry if this has been answered but the TUI thread is massive and I thought it would be easier to ask in a new thread.
We had a holiday booked with TUI which has now been cancelled and was booked through a travel agent as a package.
The agent has informed us that TUI will be sending us a credit note which we have responded and stated we want a refund.
The advice on the thread is to ring TUI themselves to request a cash refund after receiving the credit note but as we booked through an independent agent I'm not sure they'll deal with us.
So my question would be who's responsible for returning my cash and who do I need to contact as we rang TUI previously and they told us we need to speak with the agent.

Your contract is with the travel agent.1

That's what I thought but may be a bit more awkward getting a cash refund perhaps.
Oh well time will tell0 -
Afraid the lesson people are learning now is to not book via 3rd party companies and agents . This has been a particular problem with refunds on flightsEx forum ambassador

Your contract is with the travel agent and if you do not want to accept a refund credit note, then the travel agent can fill in a jotform to request that you want a refund. Im not sure of time scales but TUI will then pay the travel agent and the agent can then refund you. Tour operators are working in departure date order at the moment. Agents will have dedicated phone lines and email contacts so get in touch with your travel agent and ask them to do it for you.hollie.weimeraner said:Sorry if this has been answered but the TUI thread is massive and I thought it would be easier to ask in a new thread.
