Can anyone tell me if universal credit is only payable from date you applied or if it is backdated to when you finished work due to lockdown? Thank you

It''s from the time you apply. It can only be backdated for a maximum of 1 month in the most extreme circumstances and this isn't one of them. Do be aware that if you're claiming tax credits a claim for UC will end that claim.
