Would a Current Account with an arranged overdraft facility go on to your credit file

I am just wondering about my Experian credit file. Perhaps i have not used the track your file webpage properly.
With my Santander Everyday account, i have the option of an arranged overdraft which i have never arranged or used in any way, Would this show up with Experian. I understand that although overdrafts are usually there on the report, but if they have never been activated will the account show up.
This may be very a very stupid question but i have always been a pay cash and debt avoided. I had some bank charges a while back, would they have been considered an un-arranged overdraft or just bank changes for running out of money in my account.
what current accounts tend to show up with experian and other accounts
Thank you reading and any help you may offer to a technology and banking dinosaur x

Hi Toby and welcome to the forum

A few facts for you.
When you have an arranged overdraft, the access to this credit facility is recorded on your three credit files.
If you then 'dip' into the overdraft, then that will also be recorded on your credit file.
Having the credit facility demonstrates that lenders trust you.
However, 'dipping' into the overdraft would indicate that you may be living beyond your means.
I hope that this explanation helps to guide you

I have 3 current accounts, all of which are reported on my credit files. I have a First Direct OD which very rarely gets used, but a balance is never reported even when it is. I have a NatWest OD which does report when used. Most oddly, I have a Starling account with no overdraft facility, but it appears on my file anyway. I don’t mind that it does, but I think it’s a bit odd.1

Current accounts appear on your files regardless of whether they have an overdraft or not.2

Not necessarily, my current account which has a 5k overdraught doesn't appear on any of my files and I've had it 35 years!!! I wonder if this is because I opened my current account before credit files were a 'thing' In fact question is when did credit files begin?1

Old accounts are not reported. My NatWest account with overdraft facility is over 40 years old and does not get reported. I have 7 more recent current accounts without any overdraft facility and they all get reported.onlyfoolsandparking said:Not necessarily, my current account which has a 5k overdraught doesn't appear on any of my files and I've had it 35 years!!! It is now somewhere in the terms and conditions but was not there back in the day. I did try to get NatWest to report it a couple of years back and they said they would. However, it never happened but it is not that important so I did not pursue it.onlyfoolsandparking said:

It is amusing to see them say my credit score is low because my oldest account is only 2 years old!
Cue for the mob to come piling in to say my credit score is made up and to ignore it and merely to check that the data is all correct.

All three of my current accounts are ported. Only one has an overdraft facility and that OD is never used.1
