I have no family due to being in care since 4years old, Self employed since last August so can only claim universal credit. Live in staff and at Hotel I have been working at since becoming Self employed. All hotel full timers gave been FURLONGED. YET, I am having to continue working for Free. Or for the accommodation. I cook for 7 staff members who live with me and the owner. If I say anything I will be told to leave. But eventually when Hotel reopen u will be asked to leave anyway, As there won't be the business to keep me as Self employed. HELP PLEASE SOMEONE GIVE ME ADVICE. If I become homeless will I get help,???

Self employed people cannot be furloughed, although I doubt you are genuinely self employed. Unfortunately that is unlikely to help. You should apply for universal credit (assuming you are not already claiming tax credits, which would cease forever if you claimed universal credit). You have a roof over your head and food to eat, but you should really be paid. That isn't much help if they would just tell you to leave. I think you will have to see it through to the easing of lockdown, but you can always contact the council for advice.0

Genuinely self employed people can see if they are eligible for a grant.

I suspect that your employer may be pulling a fast one and you are not self employed. You can check here.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Helpful post, but I would just point out that even if your self employment is genuine, you haven't been self employed long enough to qualify for the self employed grant, as I think you know.elsien said:Genuinely self employed people can see if they are eligible for a grant.
