Noise Nuisance - Housing Association (L&D) - New Neighbour from HELL!!!

Hi Everyone!
Please help!!!!!
My mum and I have lived here for 24 years and get along with all of our neighbors.
The previous occupant above us (maisonette), passed away in December 2019 and in March 2020 (right before lockdown), our new neighbor from HELL moved in.
The first night he moved in, at 11 pm on the 8th of March I could hear loud music playing. I ignored it, without realizing it would be the start of a long hell of events.
Every day/every other day, this neighbor plays loud music for hours on end, to which point it penetrates down to the bottom of our property and can be heard in pretty much every room. I've contacted our housing association (L&Q) and they've asked me to record the noise on their noise app. Since roughly the 18th of March 2020, I've been recording the noise coming from the perpetrator.

L&Q contacted the guy and advised that he'd apologized for the noise, they then closed our case. I raised a complaint and they decided to re-open the complaint again. We're now at the point where they've advised that they are passing my evidence to their lawyers to try and get an injunction.

This evening at 11:30 pm, this guy has decided to play loud music again. I've gone to his house and honestly, it's a waste of time. Both my mother and I are key workers and to be honest, we don't know where else to turn. I'm exhausted, stressed and completely tired, he has 0 consideration and I honestly don't know what else to do.

The best course of action for us would be for them to evict him. But not sure what to do next?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The best course of action is to do what you've been doing and follow the HA procedures for dealing with troublesome tenants.
Realistically, it will take longer than you have given it for the HA to go through set legal processes to the point where eviction happens, should the perpetrator not change their ways. To be frank, it sounds like you have had a fair response so far and you're in a better position than someone suffering noise nuisance in  a private housing situation.
Many maisonettes are semi-detached, so if you have friendly neighbours similarly affected, get them on-side to assist your case with their own complaints.

It sounds like your HA are being very pro active. Just bear with them and give them time. Keep recording the evidence.

I really feel for you both, sounds like a nightmare situation. Although it does sound as if the HA are being very proactive in responding to your compalint, I think in the meantime I'd also get my local MP on board. It won't do any harm having somebody with a little bit of clout on board & possibly could help get the issue resoloved a little quicker.

And many thanks to both of you continuing to work due to being key workers & having this additional stress to cope with as well.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Yeah noise is a real tough problem to deal with. I know it's not much consolation but you're lucky the HA are pursuing a legal track - many authorities don't bother.

Make sure that you copy all correspondence so that you have a paper trail. Write to your local councillor and MP to advise them of the situation. Most leases make mention of no noise to be heard outside the premises between 11.00pm and 7.00am.
Persist in yor complaints to hoousing association
