NS&i online login - is the queue legit? ANSWERED (yes, it is)

Hi,

I just tried to log in to my NS&i account and I got put in a "queue".  I've never seen anything like this before, it was very odd, and I'm just checking to make sure it isn't some phishing scam or something.  

Can anyone confirm one way or the other?

I logged on this morning to open an Income Bond. It took ages, and timed out a couple of times, so perhaps it is legit?
Its been normal for supermarkets, Boots and B&Q websites since this virus began, but haven't heard it about a bank

Just logged and checked my PBs and Savings Certs with no queueing.

Logged in as they sent me an email to say that I had a new message about my PBs, I was in a queue - this was the first time I had seen it.
They said the wait was 20 minutes, but I got through real quick.
This is my third month of winning even if its only 75 pounds in March and April and 25 pounds in May.

Not recently but I did encounter a "queue", when checking last month's PB winnings, around the 5th April.

No problem logging in this morning to check this month's win.

Just tried and was no. 26 in the queue and got in in about 15 seconds.

I must admit I have never seen it before on NS&I

I wonder if they have just reduced capacity or if there are many more people trying to open accounts etc

I had never seen it before until lockdown. Then my wife had a queue of thousands just to get into B&Q.

Therefore when I saw it in NS&I I was prepared. I was opening an Income Bond as I expect it will pretty soon be a best buy. Furthermore, there is a good chance that the Government will keep it there longer than an independent bank.
