Section 75 Claim

Hi
I have made a Section 75 claim with Tesco Credit Card
The claim was for a cancelled family holiday costing £8,300 to which I only paid £1,800 on my credit card
After jumping though hoops I thought I was nearing the end.
I received a phone call from Tesco Credit Card today informing me that I would only be entitled to £850 payment as due to the Corona Virus some of my holiday was being classed as an Act Of God & Tesco would not be paying out.
Has anyone else had any dealings with Tesco Credit Card or heard anything about this Act of God !!!!!!
Hughie

Ask for the decision in writing with a break down what's been excluded.

To some people, everything is an act of God, surely? 🤔I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

Did didn't they were allowed these PC days to say "Act of God" has to be force majeure, as Act of God may offend atheists

Why not claim on travel insurance. Or why have holiday co not refunded?Life in the slow lane0

Put in a complaint, get a deadlock letter, escalate to fos.0

If a claim is successful through a credit card, who pays? The credit card company, or the provider of services/goods?0
-
A chargeback - the provider or their bank.
Section 75 - the card company in the first instance, in most cases the merchant ultimately.

This is an owner of a property which I booked through Airbnb. He has offered Me to book another holiday before 2021. So it would be ultimately him who would have to pay up if I claim through my credit card?0

S75 is more than likely the card provider, as the cost of taking the retailer to court is not worth it. I have never in many years, despite some massive payouts never known a case go to court to get anything back.Deleted_User said:A chargeback - the provider or their bank.

Think back to the breast implant scandal. We paid out millions (as decision was made due to the nature of the event, while other banks did not) It was just written off. Read everybody has to fund the loss.Life in the slow lane0
