Expedia "non transferable" hotel and flight

Hello, we booked a hotel and flight for early June which Expedia state is non transferable or refundable. We want to change the dates to next year. Both the hotel and the airline easyJet are willing to change it. But will this get us in trouble with Expedia if we approach the hotel and airline behind their backs? Would there be any problems arising from this? Any help would be gratefully received.

If the hotel and easyJet are happy to work directly with you then go for it .

It is possible if it ends up being cancelled again, or there is a mix up in anyway, but should be ok.
If you manage to get hold of Expedia, I don't see a problem changing as the are desperate not to issue refunds, so a change of date would be good for them.
