ASOS disagreement

My partner ordered me a watch from ASOS  she paid £200. The parcel got delivered but inside the watch box was empty. She emailed ASOS and the reply she got was (see attached picture) 
and now we don’t know where to go from here.

And then they reject the chargeback on the basis that the order was delivered. Which they can prove.

Is there more to this?  Has your partner got a history of returning items or disputing things with Asos?  I find it odd that they would go straight to that response.

No there isn’t more to this, she hasn’t had her account that long and has only previously ordered items of clothing. Never sent anything back and never had a problem until the incident with the watch. I’m absolutely furious about the email that they had sent. 

It wasn’t that the item had gone missing the watch box was there but had already  been opened and was nothing inside was just an empty box.
