CV Knowhow

Hello, I hope this is the correct forum to use.
With the recent change in circumstances, I have updated my CV and using various job boards plus other approaches to get new employment. It is a long time since I last did a proper CV, so not sure whether it was really 'modern and professional' for today - the last advice I had on CV structure and layout was over 30 years ago from the school careers advice service. I was quite pleased when one of the job boards did a 'free CV review' and gave some helpful comments.
Obviously, nothing is ever 'free' and the helpful comments were a lead-in to a paid CV update service and that this would be done by a professional and experienced CV-writer, careers / HR expert from within my industry. I took advantage of the offer, followed their process and received back a CV that is entirely unusable and I can only assume was created by an auto-bot. All attempts at further discussions has received bot-responses and it seems impossible to call them. The CV I received was entirely incomprehensible and appalling layout (nearly 100 changes of font text style for example).
Is there any way I can get a refund?

How did you pay for this?
Ultimately it would be small claims court, unless it's credit card, then a s.75 chargeback might be possible0 -
Paid by credit card.
Does a s.75 chargeback have any effect on me - for example credit score?0 -

Thank you - I am just reading the advice section on S.75 now.
Do I write to the supplier first giving them a final chance to make amends, or just straight to the credit card?
Is there a time limit before, or within which, I must claim?0 -
I have written to the company asking them to either provide the service and output they promised, or a full refund.
How long should I give them to respond before writing to say that is their last chance before I approach credit card company?
Is there anyone here who has seen success from the company CV Knowhow?
I would much rather receive the quality of output that was expected than need to pursue a refund.0 -
I would try and get your money back if I were you. Just did a quick google search of them and they seem to have a lot of bad reviews online. I would say good customer service should be delivered within 2-3 working days, so I would wait that long for a response before ringing up your credit card company. If you still want your CV professionally written, I really recommend CVictory (cvictory.co.uk). I had my CV written by them a while back and had great results, and their customer service team are very helpful too!Good luck getting your CV sorted.-1

Thanks for the previous comments, I have given CVKnowhow every possible chance and they are just fobbing me off and not processing the refunds they are stating they will.
I now need to pursue the credit card approach. I have never done this before but it seems as though I can do a "chargeback" or a "section 75". What is the difference? All I want is the money refunded with least hassle and as quick as possible.
Will doing either a "chargeback" or a "section 75" affect my credit rating?0 -
As far as aware they do not appear on credit file so should not effect your credit rating. As it is a dispute rather then non payment.0

Thanks - that is good to know.
Why are there two systems - "chargeback" and "section 75"? What is the difference?

Basically section 75 is part of the consumer credit act so is the law, pretty much means that both the retailer and the credit provider are equally liable if something goes wrong. The charge back scheme is mainly for debit cards, not a legal requirement but voluntary, more generally through the banks.0
