Did you include your long card number as the account reference?

There's a hidden flaw in that particular strategy.5 -
sort code: 09-00-99
account no: 01000007
ref: <your 16 digit card number>
However for your own piece of mind, I suggest you call Santander credit card support to get the above verified. For some strange reason Santander don't publish the above on their website, I got this from my FirstDirect internet banking portal whom I pay my santander zero card through.1 -
Login to your Santander account and make the payment that way.Life in the slow lane0

"Top tip - never make a payment to account details provided by strangers on the internet."There are websites which will confirm if a sort code is genuine. Not sure if you can do that for specific account numbers - but if you transfer a nominal £1 using the generic details given above, with your 16 digit card number in the reference field, then that will confirm if a payment has reached the correct CC account. If not it should get bounced back.

Santander Blocking Accounts (Legal & Regulatory Requirements)
Has anyone else had their account blocked? I find it completely irresponsible of Santander to block an account whilst the whole of the country is in lockdown and unable to get through to their phone lines to resolve. My local branch had 50 people (old) queued outside attempting to resolve their issue. My account was blocked because I hadn't completed their form or online version for legal regulatory purposes. The mail they sent a) didn't state by when I had to complete or b) the consequence of not doing so. they then proceeded to block my account without a phone call or consideration of what the impact of stopping a customers account and bank cards whilst self isolating. Surely the L&R updates could wait and are not the most pressing issue of the government of the day. totally irresponsible from this bank. whilst all other banks are trying to help their customers, Santander punish theirs.0 -
The L&R regulations are the last thing that can wait. The bank won't take the hit just because you haven't responded.
You need to take control of your finances, especially in times like this.0
