SEISS self employed grant says not eligible despite meeting all criteria?

Hi
My husband is a self employed construction worker and has been out of work since lockdown. He has made a profit of around £37k per year for the last 3 years - all tax returns done. So we are now in a state of panic that when we input his UTR and NI number it says he is not eligible. He has no other income- basically he meets all the relevant criteria. His brother who does exactly the same job and earns the almost the same has been told he IS eligible. We have clicked the thing that said 'ask HMRC to check eligibility' and thst told us how we might have to wait until the end of May for a phone call/email about it all. I can't begin to describe how stressful this is. Has anyone got an idea as to what is happening?

Self employed colleagues of mine in foot health had the same response . They entered the information again and the second time it worked. So maybe worth while going again if you haven't already done so.

Exactly the same with me. And several others looking at the forum. I’m 100% self employed, 3 years of returns, all Submitted by deadlines, all paid, all under 50k. But says not eligible; very quickly, like it didn’t even think about it! Did your partner take on an employed temp job after lockdown? Asking because I did and wondered if that confused the process. Although it shouldn’t affect my eligibility. Have written to MP; 25 days of purgatory is unfair.0

He has had 2 days work about 2 weeks ago- not been paid for that yet though. It's very odd. He has appealed it and will have to wait an age for a response. So angry about it.0

Try again, I've heard similar stories from others. I think at certain times the website was overwhelmed. Good luck0
