BW Legal Re parking fine from KBT Cornwall Ltd t/a Armtrac Security

Hi My son has just received a letter from the above. It's the first he's heard about any of this.  They want £160 but offer a reduction to £128 if paid by the end of May. The only thing they can think of is when they parked in a car park where the machine wasn't working, his wife took some photos and emailed the company and were let off.  This was in December.
The thing they are worried about most is how it may affect their credit as they need to remortgage later this year, they believe once it's gone to the Bailiffs it will already affect their credit, but they weren't aware of any parking ticket!   Obviously they are upset so any help is appreciated.

So, you will have a confirmation email or letter from KBT to say it was cancelled ?????

Hi My son has just received a letter from the above.
Why can't your son come here so we can advise him direct?  It's hopeless trying to get quick responses to questions and provide answers via a third party - Chinese Whispers!
The thing they are worried about most is how it may affect their credit as they need to remortgage later this year, they believe once it's gone to the Bailiffs it will already affect their credit,
If this is your son's level of understanding, he really does need to be here himself otherwise I fear he might make some unnecessary costly mistakes.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Why is everyone except him involved ?

If these issues are in HIS name , he should be dealing with it and have dealt with it in the past , if he is 18 or over he should be dealing with it as an adult

So your son writes to BWLegal enclosing prove of cancellation and tell them to cease.

Unless of course your son had another ticket .... best to ask your son

He didn't ask me to deal with it, I chose to ask on here as the forum and people on it have been helpful in the past, and I may get  some information that will make any issue easier to deal with either for myself or for family or friends.  Forum members of course have the option to either read and run or offer advice.

It hasn't.  It won't affect them even if they get a court claim, as long as they don't ignore it.

Please read post #2 of the NEWBIES advice thread pinned at the top of this forum.

And read any BW Legal threads - we have thousands and have won 99% of defended cases here and this will be no different.

But if they have a letter/email confirming the PCN is cancelled (same PCN number?) then a copy of that needs emailing to BW Legal as a first step.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I deal with stuff like this for my adult child even though she is perfectly capable  - because I have the time and she doesn’t.  Isn’t that what mums do ? I’m sure OP can pass on any advice.
The board is very scratchy today.  We’re all on the same side 😊
