Should I make a claim

Options
Hi had a bike stolen recently roughly worth £700. Excess of £300. Just wondering how the premiums increase (whether it's a lot). Just wondering if it's worth claiming. Any advice greatly received. Thanks

    IMHO:
Excess £300 = (if you are v.lucky & insurance value the bike at £700) you get maybe max. £400 (depends if any costs etc. would be deductible and even whether or not your bike was insured).
Insurance costs would almost certainly increase for a minimum of five years.
How much by, who knows - but you will have to weigh up whether or not that increase is worth the likely sum you would receive.
Oh and please remember that if you contact your insurers to ask they are still very likely to record the incident and your premiums will increase PLUS you would have to declare this upon renewal, affecting future insurance.
