Furlong scheme

My brother has been working though the lockdown delivering items to Hospitals as to this date 5/05/2020. He's has just received he's payslip to find that he has a 80% payment from the furlong scheme. Surely this isn't right as he was working last month. What's the best way to report this.

It's not furlong. The spelling is furlough."All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well."

Has he spoken to his employer? Might be something simple like other staff have been furloughed and they made an error on the pay run. Or if he thinks they have claimed and should not he could try reporting it to HMRC.

He had a letter saying they were going to be furloughed from the end of April but Its seems its been done from end of March. By the look of it all the staff have had the same. He's spoken to he's boss and he reckons its a mistake, but he's a right dodgy bloke .and its looks like he's going to wind the firm up.sharpe106 said:Has he spoken to his employer? So is he on furloughed now? If he is and there a chance the company shuts down probably not worth rocking the boat as he might end up with nothing. Maybe not right but sill 80% and no hassle is better then 0% lots of hassle.0
