Can I use my student loan to help buy a house?

    Graduates in investment banking still start on around £60,000 per year, and it’s not massively behind in some law and accounting firms. A good degree from a good university remains a positive life-changing qualification.

    The system sort of works in that if you did sell burgers you would never pay a penny back whereas the investment banker will pay their loan back and a lot more.

    I know someone who inherited a lot of money just before going to university. They asked a financial advisor if they should pay university fees out of the inheritance and leave university 'debt free'. The advisor basically said keep the money and max out on the loan. Leaving university with a good house deposit is better than leaving penniless but having to pay a bit less 'tax' if you earn a good salary.
