What the previous ER has said is to repay the 50% at the end of the 3 months or however long furlough is going to last before she can get back into work

I was under the impression she would not be returning to work, as she had already left.

What I said was accept the payments and then simply don’t pay her. Not like she can take her to court to get the money as she isn’t owed it anyway!

Not lot they can do, so I would do that.

Is there anywhere that I can ‘blow the whistle’ on this ER without it affecting her furlough payments as if she is the only one that’s been asked to do this it will be obvious it’s her that’s told someone and I don’t want her to get into bother.

She could report it, but to me if she is wanting it in her personal account that has nothing to do with whistleblowing. She is trying to extort her for personal gain, no for the company.

under the legislation (Public Interest Disclosure Act) it has to be the employee that reports it.

I'd say as its a company rep (Director/Owner?) misusing government funds (so a public interest) funneled through their company with a bit of fraud/bribery involved for good measure, its covered.  I mentioned it as an option to cut them off if they started harassing for £££ before you said the employer wants it at the end of the furlough period.  Now my advice is a very strong "hmmmmmk" it, take the money and run.
