Haven't seen this on here yet, Abbey have a revised offer on their credit cards for new applications from Monday:
For new card holders:
13 months 0% BT (was 12 months), either 2.5% or 3% fee, not sure which
5% cashback on supermarket shopping until July 2008, to max $50
For existing MBNA/Abbey card holders:
9 months 0% BT (was 6 months), no BT fee
$100 cash back if you transfer over $1000 (was $50)
5% cashback on supermarket shopping until July 2008, to max $50
All existing Abbey/Santander card holders get their 5% supermarket cash back offer extended until the end of March 2008.
As I've said repeatedly, apply through an Abbey branch to get your card issued quickest - phone and internet applications have a backlog of up to 28 days but branch applications are processed the same day. And come in to my branch for extra special service
. Sorry for use of the $ sign, US import laptop, can't work out how to get the pound sign!

PBA thx for the info.
U can change ur keyboard settings to UK by following these steps::
select language bar option from toolbars.
Then at language bar (which u can see at toolbar) click on settings.
And select 'English(United Kingdom) - United Kingdom' from default input language. then ok
hope this will change ur keyboard settings.0 -

Good news, especially in view of the mess they made of issuing the cards in the first place. I've still to receive my first statement, so still have to check that the cashback has been applied and calculated correctly, cancel the duplicate Direct Debit and check whether the correct Direct Debit is for the full amount or just the minimum payment. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
As an Abbey MBNA card holder I just received the letter offering £50 for transfering a balance and 6 months at 0% (no fee).
If they have now upped this offer, do I need to wait for another application form or should I just go into a branch?0 -
is this just for abbey/MBNA customers,
or can any MBNA user get it and claim the £100........i.e i have a virgin card which is MBNA0 -

I'm surprised they actually have half decent offers for existing customers. I can't believe there's no BT fee! Amazing!
haha. You've obviously been doing some bargain shopping across the pond. :-)I know nothing0 -
Tried going into branch today but the advisor told me that the fee free BT was only if you were transferring a balance from the old MBNA card.
May have to try another branch!0 -

To do the balance transfer to you have to call them up or is there a letter coming in the post explaining all the changes?
This is good news though. I am glad I got in there early and got a card shortly after it was announced.
Edit: I called up customer services and after the guy had checked with his manager as he didnt know about the date being pushed out, he confirmed that it was July 08 for both new and existing customers.0 -
As my branch wasn't any help on this one, I telephoned Abbey. They told me the deal for old Abbey MBNA card holders was 6 months at 0% and £50 BT cashback. I did ask if there was a better offer but she told me no.
Any idea how I can try and get the 9 months and £100 cashback?0 -
Which if the correct cashback end date as it says existing people have it pushed out till July 08 yet in the next sentence it says March 08?

I was advised that the 31 July 2008 date was for "brand new customers only". Pity you didn't record the 'phone call, altho' it wouldn't have set a precedent. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0
