I will download once I'm sure of 2 points.
Does the app clearly show the length of contact time? I don't want to be forced to walk past someone for seconds where a pavement narrows and then end up self-isolating for 14 days.
Secondly, are people contacted when someone notifies that they have covid or is it only after they have had a positive test? It seems that the vast majority of tests turn out to be negative despite people thinking they have it. Don't want the morons who used to empty schools, shops etc with bomb hoaxes thinking it would be funny to notify they have covid and causing others to be self-isolated.
I also don't see how a place with so few potential covid cases can be used for the trial.1 -
Because it's like a sealed environment ... there shouldn't really be anyone leaving or going to the island, so the movement of people can be more controlled. If you then upscale it to the mainland (GB) the relative results should be similar. (GB is another island community, simply on a much larger scale than the IoW).Be_Happy said:I also don't see how a place with so few potential covid cases can be used for the trial.1 -
According to Rory Cellan-Jones on teh BBC, when someone reports symptoms, contacts will be advised to maintain social distancing. If that person then has a positive test, the contacts are told to self isolate.Be_Happy said:I will download once I'm sure of 2 points.

The "state" doesn't need you to have GPS switched to know your location. Mobile phones have been able to be tracked long before they had GPS installed in them.Willing2Learn said:I always have the GPS switched off. I don't want the state knowing my where I am, thank you very much!0
