Sorry if this has been discussed but I’m currently with Bulb and just had a hefty £155 monthly bill off them! They say i use 33kw per day and average 8045 kw per year - I’ve read watched this and it’s triple normal consumption! I live in a 3 bed detached house - combi boiler with average electronics with 2 teenagers I’m totally at a loss!
Sorry if this is a stupid question we have always had higher than average but never this high - our house was built on the garden of our next door neighbour they didn’t get electricity bills for a few months after we moved in which they queried and then had some I’ve always wondered if we were paying theirs too??
Sorry for the long post

    Get yourself a smart meter.
They are free, and will allow you to monitor what you are using real time.

3 Bed house typical consumption is 12000kWh per year gas and 3100kWh year electric?

Turn off your electric at your mains and see what happens at your neighbours? And check your meter is not still reading up.

Also make sure you are paying bills based on actual meter readings, not estimates.
Look for the 'E' beside the meter readings on your bill which would show an estimate and compare with your actual meter readings as one very high bill can simply be down to incorrect estimates on the previous or current bill...

Are you coming towards the end of your fix ? If so Bulb may have increased your DD for a month or two to make sure it is approx. in balance at the end of the fix.

Do your own sums to work out what your annual consumption is - take a reading today and compare it with about one from 12 months ago.  Some of these predicted annual figures from the suppliers need to be taken with a huge pinch of salt..
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

I’m with Bulb I can’t seem to find if they supply smart meter? Can I buy one somewhere or should they supply one?

I’ve spoken to Bulb they say it’s because I’m only giving one reading every 3 months so I’ll send a reading in every 2 weeks for the next couple of months to see if it better and will try and turn everything off see what happens 🙏

Take some readings over the next few days, similar time of day and see what a typical daily reading is.
