Hi

I have been trying to set up an account with bulb the energy supplier that the previous owner used. I couldn’t use the online form to move in as there was an error. I went on the chat but the guy was chatting to several people at once. He said they would have to manually set up an account. He sent me an email to be a point of contact. He said he would get back later that day. He never did. I emailed him the next day and he asked for some details. I sent them back on Friday but haven’t heard anything since. I emailed him to check if he got my email but no response.

I was checking the website today to see if I can do the move in but and it was working. Although it did say press here to set up your account to switch despite saying that I was moving in. They estimate based on previous use it would be £35 a month but I expect it to be more than that.  They said they will take details and email once account is set up. I’m hoping I’m ok to do this as the advisor doesn’t seem to be on the ball and helping too many people at once so forgetting some customers. I just want it set up so I can know how much my bills are in the first month

Do your own checks - you know your meter reading when you moved in , read your meter again in a month (give it to Bulb or Bulb  will only be guessing your consumption) and do your own sums.  If its more than £35 put that aside.

I'm just in the process of leaving Bulb, and that is purely on cost grounds.

CS has actually been very good - timely, responsive and willing to listen. Have a bit of faith and I'm sure you'll be happy with them in times to come.

ETA: CS has sorted my exit bill out within 24 hours of receiving the data, now halved to what it should rightfully be by my calculation. The fact that they responded to common sense and corrected data without me having to argue the toss helped a great deal.

So much to read, so little time.

Looking at your other post re house completion and setting up a Virgin account.
You are doing things too early and may find yourself paying for the present occupiers usage.
