Morning all
Bright and sunny here but rain due late morning and for the rest of the day it doesn't look like rain but we will see !
Had my walk again yesterday I am trying to go a bit further every day, im really enjoying it but it does wear me out. My boob is quite sore and tender atm not where the scars are but kind of all over it feels very tender to touch and the skin is flaking off as if sun burnt, I am putting this down to the radioactive jab they gave me, its bound to have some effect but I am going for a check up tomorrow so will ask then.
We have a click and collect from sainsbugs today but there are a lot of things not available we had done mums shopping in with ours and a lot of hers is not coming so we may have to go to the shop for her as well.
Will go for my walk later and make some soup from two butternut squash which have gone a bit wrinkly !!
Taff can you share the recipe for the Italian rice salad ? it sounds lush xx
Have good days all xx13 -
taff, that reminds me my father buried a car in the garden. Caveat - I knew nothing about it until one of my brothers told me after we had sold the house, the garden was very large (half an acre)and dad was a complete cheapskate and did not want to pay someone to scrap the car. Said brother worked as a digger driver and buried it for him. I wonder if the new owners have found it, hopefully it's deep enough not to be found.

SNOOZER there was an article in the Telegraph & Argos last month about someone finding an old car buried in his garden. Could it be one and the same car I wonder! X"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13

Morning

Talking of buried cars I live close to an old American air base and apparently when they left they decided it was easier to bury all the vehicles and equipment than to get them all back to the States. If Taff lived round here she would no doubt dig up a Jeep single handedly
Had a challenging few days with mum she has lost her hearing again and had a real meltdown. Spoke to her doctor who understandably said it was not something he could visit and treat with all thats going on but I don't think he got how bad it would be to be 89 on your own isolated and now deaf. Anyway after some gentle persuasion (ish) he sent some drops round and whilst it hasn't solved it its a bit better and she can now hear me, the phone and god forbid the smoke alarm. Being as healthy as she is overall is a blessing but its also a curse as when something does happen she reverts to child mode and demands an instant solution
Anyway everything else is tootling along as normal here and the dishwasher remains unfilled although the bins are empty atm
Good to hear your walking rubes your recovery seems to moving quickly I bet your doctor will be pleased.
Take care all13 -

Morning all. I slept last night and In fact I didn't get up til nearly 10am ! Oh the shame, especially on here where everyone seems to be up at the crack of dawn
I got my second wind after lunch yesterday and semi-attacked the patio with the help of Mr Fix It and his flame thrower. Now the weeds and moss are no more, then I wandered around the garden picking out weeds indiscriminately. Ha! Ha! none of them knew which one was for the chop next. Tea was lovely, hot pulled pork in a roll mmmmmmm ! We each had a packet of crisps with it, oh the decadence ! Then last night we watched the new Star Wars film, accompanied by nuts and chocolate........ I'll never lose any weight at that rate !This afternoon I am going to change the bedding, clean and hoover the upstairs, but as we may have showers I shall leave washing the bedding til tomorrow when it's supposed to be better weather. It doesn't look too bad outside at present but I'm not chancing it. You watch, now it'll be raining tomorrow instead of today
Don't know what to have for tea today, I will have a rummage about in the freezer later. I have to try to get the leftover pulled pork in anyway.... somehow. Lately it is taking me such a long time to post because I then have to read it for mistakes several times as I seem to have developed typing dyslexia or something. Is that even possible ? Right time for another coffee just to restart my engines. TBH I think they need a complete overhaul
WMF many thanksTA such sad times. I think the worst thing about this disease is the inability to be able to hugs the ones you love.taff when I moved in here the garden was a complete shambles and you were unearthing strange things every other day. Milk crates, bicycles etc and we cleared 2 skips worth of rubbish and debris from there. The previous owner then had the cheek to return about 6 mths later to ask if I'd found a rabbit hutch !!!
Take care all. Hugs to anyone who is poorly or struggling through this awful time.love as always nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
Sorry, ruby, it basically comes in a jar. They're small chopped pickled vegetables, with or without mushrooms, so peppers, olives, carrot, mushrooms [the tiny little whole ones], capers, artichoke and you boil risotto rice till it's a touch away from ready, chuck in the whole jar, juice and all and then add whatever you fancy. Usually, it's little frankfurter sausages chopped up, and some bits of mozzarella [soft or hard version] or a very mild hard cheese, a bit of sweetcorn..The jars are called insalata di riso, or gusto riso but you can make it at home, it tastes very fresh for a rice salad...We don't do the tuna or the herbs but this pretty much it, the photos look about rightSnoozer, that's quite inspiring, who'd have thought to bury a car?! Nelski, I'd attempt it for sure! Doubt I'd get very far though
nanny, a flamethrower? I want one!! DOn't worry about the mistakes, I make them all the time and I go back and edit the worst ones but not all....leave them in, we can play what my sister plays when I text her, which is Codebreaking 101...
