Cancel Car Lease (PCH) - lease broker uncontactable

Hi Everyone - hope you guys can help
I ordered a car on PCH back in January with delivery due in April. Obviously with the Covid situation i expect things to be a bit tricky; but the last contact i had with the broker was in March. Now their 0300 number redirects to a mobile answerphone that's never picked up and emails don't get a response either.
As I need a car for work i'm currently using a hire car - which as you can imagine is a bit expensive. My local dealer has a near enough identical vehicle to the one i've ordered in stock and are delivering to key workers. So, i want to cancel the order with the broker, but find the cancellation section of the order form a bit confusing:
  • No order which has been accepted may be cancelled by The Customer except with the written consent of the Company and subject to the Customer indemnifying the Company in full against all loss (including loss of profit), costs (including the cost of labour and materials), damages, charges and expenses incurred by the Company, our cancellation fee is £0.00 plus VAT.

Does that mean that I'm not actually liable to pay anything in the event of cancellation? Or can they still hold me to a mysterious 'loss of profit'?

What work is it that you are doing if you are not one of the labelled key workers?

Sorry if it’s not clear - I work in the NHS so am a key worker, which is why my local dealer is happy to supply me a car.

The way I read it is:
    • You can only cancel it with their permission, and
    • If you cancel, you agree to pay all loss of profits, costs, damages, charges and expenses.  But there's no actual fee, as such.
"Costs" could include a bill for any staff time processing the application, and then the cancellation.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

Had the broker got as faras doing the paperwork as if so, do you also have the supplying dealer details or any other paperwork to contact the dealer and/or fiance company, rather than the broker to cancel?

Only paper work so far has been the order form and the credit check. The finance company is belived to be the manufactures own, but the other dealer cannot see a finance app in my name so I don’t believe they’ve processed it.

Interestingly I’ve just checked the credit check paperwork which states:
If you were to cancel your order, we may charge a cancellation fee for our brokering services as set out in our Terms of Business up to the value of £0.00 inc VAT for services rendered. This does not affect your right to cancel your finance agreement within any cooling off period.

I'd write to the broker / contact letting them know you've had to source a car from elsewhere due to frustration of contract. You need a car and they can't provide it or respond.
Then I'd contact the dealer that can get you the car and get that sorted. If the first dealer comes back wanting to press on you can decline and potentially pay any losses, which wouldn't be much since the car hasn't been registered.
