Not eligible to apply for grant

Good afternoon,
Now we can see if we are eligible for the self employed grant after entering my utr and national insurance number it came back with the message below saying I am not eligible.

The 3 bullet points they have stated below I can not understand why I would not meet any of the points mentioned. What is classed as non trading income ? The only income I have is from my self employed job so I do not understand that point, I have filed all my returns and I have never had a profit of 50k or over in my life..any advice would be appreciated.

thanks

What is the source of your income, is it trading, property or dividends? Did you complete your tax return for 18/19 before 23 April 20?

Exactly what I just got shown, when I checked myself. I’ve submitted a claim form to re-evaluate.ive sent in my last two years of self employed tax returns (always on time )
    I’m below the £50k
not sure what this means though -
    • your trading profits are less than your non-trading income????

    Utter rubbish this !

Those three bullet points look like standard answers, not specific to your case.
Did you do what it suggests in the screen print and either ask your accountant or ask HMRC to review your eligibility.

Source of income is through trading ..I am a self employed bricklayer and taxed at source so at the end of the tax heat I have a gross, net and tax figures.Smb3088 said:

I am going to look at my returns this evening to see if I can see anything as to why they claim I’m ineligible before I ask them to review

I am a fitness instructor. So assume that income is trading profits.
not entirely certain why I am not eligible. I’d recommend you use the online form to get them to reevaluate your claim, as I have done.

isnt it amazing how there’s always a clause or an excuse.. The govt. announce this great scheme to help people out of work... then make it impossible to receive the help.
I have zero work because of this and if I don’t qualify for the grant, then I’m basically without an income for who knows how long. Scary.

This is worrying. It sounds like there is something wrong with the way this is working.

Just checked over my returns ..all under 50k profits, all filed at time..So unless it’s something to do with “ your trading profits are less than your non trading income “ as I don’t even know what that means??

The only figures I enter on my return every year  is my turnover , expenses and my tax paid and then I get a calculation at then end.

so if anyone could shed any light on the trading profits and non trading income statement I would be very grateful.

    thanks

Non trading income is any other taxable income like rental income, interest, dividends, earnings from employment etc. It looks as if there is or was a glitch in the system. Try again later.

Try again later on or another day, seems to be working now, for some at least.
