Refund to cancelled credit card

At the beginning of the year, I booked a short holiday, paying with my credit card. Because of lockdown we are unable to go: our hotel was very understanding and agreed to refund our money. I then realised that in February our credit card was scammed so it was cancelled and the bank issued a new one. Will the money be refunded to our new credit card?

Based on my experience (admittedly nearly 20 years ago), no.

We're waiting for a deposit refund to husband's credit card which, since deposit was paid, has expired & been renewed. Company contacted us to say they are unable to refund to that card and asked us to provide bank account details so they can make payment. I suggest you contact the hotel and explain.
