Morning al
It was murky earlier on, but is more cheerful now.
Not much planned for today. I unearthed a box of cleaning stuff yesterday and think I might have to have a go at getting it all sorted out. I'm rather hoping that my secateurs might be hiding at the bottom of the box. They were hideously expensive ones and brilliant to use, but have not yet appeared in the unpacking. I do hope that they haven't become a victim of the move.
TA, there is nothing wrong with having two sloth days on the trot. Be easy on yourself.
RR that's two lovely walks you have had. It doesn't matter how slowly you take it, enjoyment is all.
Am loving the TV programmes celebrating VEday. I remember it well. Mum dragging me up the road, a reluctant 6 year old in one hand and one of our diningroom chairs in the other, saying, "Yes it's a party and you will enjoy it." I hated parties, (still do), mum always said it was easier to get me to the dentist than to a party. Sitting in the middle of the road pretending to have a wonderful time was not my idea of fun.
I also couldn't understand why everyone was so deliriously happy. I'd never known anything else but blackouts, sirens, being woken up in the middle of the night and taken down to the coal cellar, (our shelter), bombs dropping, going about accompanied by my Mickey Mouse gas mask, and the general atmosphere of fear. As far as I was concerned this was normal life and I couldn't imagine anything else.
Enough of the reminiscences. Have a happy day.

Morning all. It was raining earlier and I so enjoyed my dog walk in (light) rain! Everything was fresh.Monna -thanks for sharing your memories. We had a street party for the 50th as I’m sure many of you did.RosyRed glad you had a lovely walk even though you had to hug the hedge. That was not a thoughtful speed zapper!
Gers, your post is short - are you ok?
Off to put the kettle on for another cuppa. I’m working from home. I’m amazed by the number of teabags I get through!Have as good a day as you can folks. This will pass x11 -
Morning everyone
Quite dull here and it's been raining - hopefully it might brighten up later.
I had a bit of a disaster last night- I bit a biscuit and there was a crack - I thought it was the veneer broken off my front tooth. Well it was plus most of the tooth! I look a right sight - but as my daughters both told me - nobody's going to see me anyways. So I'm hoping it's not too long before dentists re-open.
Not sure what I'm going to do today. Need to do some sorting in my wardrobe so might make a start on that and have the rest of my Sunday Times to read. DD got me some milk this morning so I'm fine for supplies.
Oh, eldest DD in Stockholm rang to say her offices are to be part of a pilot scheme and she will be tested on Thursday to see if she has had coronavirus. She was quite ill at the beginning of March so it will be interesting to find out if she had it then.
Hope everyone has a good day

Hello all. After my rest day yesterday I had a very bad night, coughing and a blocked up nose again, resulting in hardly any sleep and palpitations. This was my first really bad night for ages too, I thought my recent good sleeping pattern was too good to last
I'm not going to get out into the garden as I planned, no heavy work anyway, but perhaps I can do some weeding this afternoon as the weather is dry and tomorrow is meant to be rainy again.I need to make a BBQ sauce as I am making pulled pork for tea using up the leftover Sunday meat and also take some rolls out of the freezer. Oh scratch that Mr Fix It has found my recipe as is already on the case ! Whatever I do, I shall be doing at a snails pace today and having an early night.Take care all, stay safe and hugs to allnan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
Afternoon all

Gorg day here today, might pop n see Mum later, n have a distanced chat/ shout in the garden .
Need to blitz the kitchen, but cba at all, n the weather's too nice to miss .
Journalling is so therapeutic DUMPLING, I've journalled since I was in my teens, n have a laugh or cry when I occasionally read them back
Am making a 3 bean chilli later, which I'll have with crunchy bread 😋
I love cooking, but have cleaning! Is anyone else the same?
MONNA, I love watching all the VE day stuff too. My Great Uncle was shot down towards the end of the war, so it's very poignant to us .
Anyway, must get my !!!!!! in gear. Huggles to all the poorlies n peed offs today 😘xx"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Afternoon all
Had to go down to the bank today to pay in some cheques but there was no queue and I could use the machine so it was quick. Then I went to Aldi. Only 3 people in the queue in front of me but then 2 NHS workers came along so they were allowed in ahead of us. Our Aldi is quite small and there's no one way system so it was hard to keep away from people. Think I'll stick to Tesco in future.
Very cross with DH. He had to go into the office and had planned to call into B&Q on the way home. He drove into the car park, saw there was a queue so came straight home.I pointed out that we all have to queue now or spend hours online trying to get a delivery slot.
The washing is done so just have to do the ironing. I managed to get some fat quarters from Aldi so will make DD a face mask later.11 -
Afternoon all. Sunny intervals and a bit warmer here today. I feel much more optmistic today and am hoping that the lockdown can be eased soon.
Candygirl we tried those sock masks. How clever! Dumpling Lee sounds so lovely.
I have not done much today. Several friends called for a chai this morning and DH did jacket potatoes with beans and cheese for lunch.
Well have a good day folks. Hugs and spoons all round.

Afternoon all,
Nice sunny day here, found it chilly earlier in the shade but it's still pleasant. No washing to go out today and rain is promised for tomorrow.
DD3 and DGD7 visited this morning.......outside and lots of shouting through the window, showing off the beautiful dandelion necklace they had made.
Have a good afternoon everybody and stay safe.
