O/S Daily Monday 4 May 2020
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning message.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Foggy misty start to the day here. Hope for some sunshine once this burns off.
DH watching catchup tv, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my porridge, whilst on here, DS2 settled and happy.
Lunch yesterday was roast pork - with all the trimmings - lovely it was too - joint of pork was delicious- there's some LO's of meat and yorkshires - nothing else. Not sure what we will be eating tonight - maybe fish and chips or could be a stir fry with the LO pork, veg and noodles then some sort of sauce - we'll see.
Didn't really do much once I'd organised lunch and then my pack up yesterday.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, and thanks for starting NMLC. It seems to be a quiet grey morning out there, we had some heavy rain early evening yesterday.Ds and family came over yesterday with some leeks they'd been given, that they weren't going to use and didn't have room in their freezer for them, it was nice to see them since lockdown we've only seen them on the screen. They stood at the gate and we stood on the path.Nothing else happened, except DH went to Wil*insons and bought a new outside broom head, a new washing line and some mealworms for the birds.I seemed to spend a lot of time sorting the freezer (again) and preparing food for the freezer, anyway it's done.Just general tidying to do today, I'll change the bed and may get some washing out but I don't think the forecast is wonderful.Hope everyone is ok, and has a good Monday.Take care folks14

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. A sunny start for us but according to the forecast it's supposed to be cloudy all day! We'll see which wins.
Not that I'm counting but today is Day 50 of solitary confinement. I wish I could say that's gone quickly but it hasn't. It feels like 50 weeks. And still a way to go yet.
As usual no plans in store. Whatever I feel like doing! Yesterday was the sloth day I had planned so I had better show willing today and potter on with a few jobs I suppose. Quite a bit of chicken left from the breast joint I cooked yesterday so I think lunch will be a chicken salad wrap and my hm soup. And dinner probably chicken salad and fried up l/o new potatoes. So an easy cooking day for me.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all the poorlies, sad, worried or lonely. Take care and stay safe xx

Good morning folks.Another dull day, in so many ways! Perhaps it's a reading day?I hope everyone is doing well. Happy Monday to all.13

Morning everyone, cloudy here but we are meant to get some sunshine so the washing machine is on.
I am a bit tired after a wakeful night but as I don't have work to do, it hardly matters. More weeding today, I think. I'm quite looking forward to Wednesday, our first supermarket delivery slot, because I'm really wondering what we will get. Mr M doesn't seem to have a no subs button on the order website.
Last night OH and I had casserole, broccoli and flatbread, DS wanted meatballs so I made those for him, with wedges. No idea what we will have tonight and not my turn to cook anyway.
Hope everyone is safe and well.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back13 -
Morning All
Cloudy for us today, yesterday's sunshine was glorious. A neighbour dropped off some magazines so I spent an hour or so looking through them whilst laid out on my sun lounger! I did get the windowsills and step painted and the driveway is now complete with it's sand, two jobs done, no three - the cellar door hinge had dropped so I screwed some wood underneath to support it.
Washing up to date, need to clean the bathrooms and my bedroom - I really don't know where the fluff comes from! I'm going to have a look in the cellar to see if I have enough paint to do my bedroom as it could do with freshening up.
Hope you have a happy Monday, take care. XX12 -
Morning all
Bright and sunny here and due to last all day I think. I have a wash on the go and will hang it out for a while after.
Went on another walk yesterday with dd, a walk that would normally take me 20 mins took 40 as I am going slowly as I dont want to push myself or trip over, I really enjoyed it though and will do the same today. A young girl opened a florist in the village just before lock down and we walked past it yesterday she has a few plants for sale outside so will walk past again today and buy something to help support her poor thing what a terrible time to start a new venture.
Onto today we have taken some pork chops from freezer so will do something with them tonight, maybe cook them on the bbq and have salad and garlic cubed potatoes with them. It is supposed to rain again tomorrow so need to make the most of it.
OH's dad has given him an electric bike OH has been going to the local shops on it to get our shopping, he absolutely loves it, I am so desperate for a go but had better not for a while yet, I am going to see the consultant for a check up wednesday so I can check with her when I can start to do things, I suspect it will be a while yet !
Have good days all and take care all xx12 -
Morning all! Sunny this morning, doubt it'll last but it's nice while it's there...Well, I forgot to take the chicken out [ must remember this morning] so chicken didn't happen, sausages and asparagus risotto happened instead [ don't get excited , I didn't make make it, I put water into a saucepan with a packet]. These things have not been successful, they use long grain rice instead of arborio or carnaroli, so it's a bit so so. Won't be buying those again should I ever visit italy again...Had a weird dream last night where all the hair on body grew and grew and grew, so where all the hair follicles have been damaged over the years by various things [ I have very little hair on my arms and almost none on my legs anyway] they all sprang back into action ot make me hairy again.Odd.Anyway, today is more riddling, and find somewhere to put the car because the other one is still there. Phooey. I have also accumulated a quantity of good cardboard which will go on te compost. I thought I was doing quite well with the paper and cardboard box empty, then it all started coming in. There's currently two large ones by the front door, and two medium ones in this room [one of which the cat has claimed] but for a change, my compost bin is chock a block so I have nowhere to put them! Can you believe it?!! Ah well, the compost will drop again soon and it'll go in then. And I know you're all waiting to see what happened with the concrete patch. Well, that's all it turned out to be. Just a random maybe two foot square of concrete, but good concrete, they type that was put down in the fifties and made to last. So I've put two little logs and a couple of pots on it. On the plus side, two foot square less grass to mow
Camelot, I salute you in your busyness today
Gers, curl up, hot chocolate or toddy because why not, good book, bliss
On that note, hope all readers along are doing OK, or well, or fantastic! If none of those things apply, tick the box saying passable...A fine and cloudy and rainy and sunny Mixed up Monday to you all.... Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi13 -
Morning ,nice and sunny here atm, we'll see how long it lasts.Dog walked, birds fed, washing nearly finished.Although I'm rationing the birds as not much left until Thursdays sm delivery.Friend has asked for more cigarettes to be added on for her, better do that asap as I will not be popular if I forget!Beef joint from the butchers was lovely, with all the trimmings albeit a bit sparse on the veg front.I'm a bit excited as I'm having a veg box delivered from our local market, the girl I spoke to was really lovely. I'll see what arrives and then adjust the sm order as quite a bit last time didnt get sent, and a few odd subs.Dh didnt come for a walk yesterday afternoon, he decided to help DS1 mend something on his car ( ongoing project!) so I had a peaceful stroll by myself, apart from on the main road where a PCSO was zapping speeding drivers. She was stood right in the middle of the pavement & didnt budge, I had to hug the hedge to get past, & it wasn't 2 metres!Right better get that washing sorted so I'll love you and leave you x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Good morning everyone, it's a lovely sunny day here today. Lee made me some breakfast and I have had a wash and got changed so I feel ready for whatever the day may throw at me.
I have started a journal which is mainly about weight loss and a food diary but I am also writing about how I am feeling. It is for my eyes only so I can hopefully get some of the negative feelings and thoughts out of my head. I need to do something as somedays I feel I am going to burst. Lee was so lovely this morning saying how much he admired my knitting and card making. He is also loves crafting and I taught him to knit a couple of days ago so he sits next to me keeping me company.
Steak and new potatoes for dinner tonight which will be lovely I am sure. Not much else to say so take care all xx
