Garage door Cable replacement

I have this type of mechanism on my garage door and the cable has snapped. Gonna attempt to replace both cables myself 😆 can anybody tell me how? Give me any advice? Also how do I remove the cable from the metal cone shown above?

Last time I bought the door manufacturer's spares. Comprised two new cones, two cables locking pin for installation and full instructions.

Be aware that the job should be done correctly (as per instructions ) as there is a lot of energy stored in the spring when under tension.

My cable snapped earlier last year.Had to replace the cables and the spring mechanism as it all comes as one piece. The fitter Had to order the part because some of the older ones are hard to get and aren't kept in stock. £240 inc parts and labour.
If you're going to do it yourself, be very careful there is a LOT of energy in the springs and they can easily unload, sprint back and do serious damage to an inexperienced human.

PC Henderson doors used to have a pin in the middle of the top bar where the spring is that you knocked through to lock the bar and spring, when you have re-fitted the new cones c/w cables you knock the pin back.
