Help in identifying this plant

This plant has been there since we moved into our house 8 years ago.It flowered for the first time this year-that too 2 flowers!

It is about 2 metres tall with spindly stems.

I have attached pics of the plant and flower.

Could anyone identify this plant?

It's a cydonia oblonga... a quince

It is right in front bit of our back garden,is it worth keeping?

We really wish to use that space for an acer or cherry plant!!

Personally, I'd keep it because I like quince, the smell and the taste , a bowlful of those ripeneing in the winter smells divine. I wouldn't swap something that is useful for something that is pretty but useless, but that's me.
