Reclaiming shares

When we knew Coronavirus had hit the UK (beginning of March 2020) I decided to reclaim my shares because I had an idea that I could lose money had I left them with the company I was with as they were Global Shares! I called my share holders and asked them to transfer the amount I have in shares into my Bank account, which they did. But at the time phoning them they did tell me I will get back the what they are worth at 12 midday, I knew the amount that I had in shares and their worth but when I checked with my Bank account I had lost over £5,000 due to the Coronavirus! Is this fair that I have lost this amount of money because of this Virus, if not how do I reclaim the lost shares?

There is no provision for subsidising losses on shares, whether caused by coronavirus or otherwise.0

That one of the risk of stocks and shares.0

You were told before you confirmed, so you could have left them in and ridden the wave. How is the share value now, if it's cheaper than when you sold you could buy back in and get more shares for the same money.
Share prices can go down as well as up, I know it's not what you want to hear, but it is part of the deal and unfortunately you won't get compensated when they drop whether that be coronavirus or anything else.0 -
Sell in May and go away! Today will be a doozy!0
