NatWest Account Application

Options
I applied for a select account on Sunday and during the application it presented the attached screen then on Wednesday I received a letter asking for my signature to return stating once this is received they will open the account. However I’m surprised as I have some adverse credit, could I possibly get decline letter after.

NW's ac opening system aren't a logical progression, and involve several departments - so you may still get asked for ID and then still get declined, or maybe not.

I have been a customer of NatWest for the past 16 years anyway (hold a basic account) so doubt they’ll ask me for ID they’ve just sent a letter asking for my signature to return.

I think you should be okay.  They have already done the credit check. ID should not be an issue as you are an existing customer.

I've experienced this before; jumped through hurdles for them providing everything they requested, only to be given a decline in the end. Such is life

In the past I have got this and had my account opened. Before they closed it for no reason like they are to a lot of people so be careful.

I’ll have to wait and in the past I’ve always had a straight decline even though my credit files fine, I’m just chancing it to be honest if it does end up being a decline it’s no big deal.

RBS are the same (they're the same bank).  They declined me a current account, but then a debit card turned up in the post.  I applied for a RBS Reward credit card, got turned down, so applied for a NatWest one instead and got accepted.  Seems to be no rhyme or reason.

They can be very odd reading some of the threads. I returned my signed form on Friday so hopefully I’ll hear something over the next few days.
