Can I cancel my insurance policy due to Coronavirus?

Hi,
We bought a policy just before this all came about (11th Mar) and we are supposed to travel end of May with easyjet and that is cancelled I believe (although not officially yet)
The policy cost around £60 and it doesn't cover the CV19 although we don't wish to claim on it for that reason.
We are just looking the cancel the insurance as this is no longer needed but reading the FAQ'S on the site it says
"If you purchased your policy longer than 14 days ago, then unfortunately we’re not able to cancel your policy"
Any ideas? we payed via a debit card.
Thanks.

Unfortunately the terms and conditions are clear as to the basis on which refunds of premiums are made.1

Ok, thought as much although it states If i'd bought it within the last 14 days you get a full refund, I take it that's the cooling off period.Thrugelmir said:Unfortunately the terms and conditions are clear as to the basis on which refunds of premiums are made.
It's a little annoying as I've bought a 'service' that will no longer be required.

Yes 14 days is the legal cooling off period.
It is annoying, but nothing you can do except to take your business elsewhere for future insurance.
New User name as MSE gave me a number in my old one.

The insurance company has already been insuring the risk since the inception of the policy and incurred costs of putting the cover in place. If you were to empty your kitchen cupboards and returned unused items to the shop would they they now refund you?leew said:
